The scope of work of the Municipal Department is divided among four main Sections; each catering to a specific need and requirement for the betterment of the quality of life for the residents of Hulhumale’.

Properties and facilities Management Section oversees the defects and maintenance responsibilities of HDC projects during the defects liability period as well as functions as the administrative centre point of the Department.

Public Transport Section manages and oversees the public bus service as well as the public ferry services offered from Hulhumale’.

Municipal Site Operation oversees public facilities such as repair and maintenance of roads and other public infrastructure and oversees the operations of the HDC workshop.

Landscaping Section is responsible for implementing and monitoring of Hulhumale’s Landscaping plan.

Properties and Facilities Maintenance, Landscaping and Public Transport Sections are currently overseen by Mrs. Kadheeja Mohamed.

Municipal Site Operation (MSO) is currently managed by Mr. Ahmed Nasheed
